each with a Janus-like pair of faces

8" tall each

making them  pretty great displayed side by side just as sculptures if not at either end of a row of books

From what I understand the softness and lightness of badger hair makes it especially useful for blending and softening edges in paintings

Embossed Leather Trinket Box aboriginal clap sticks the only other materials usedJust a nice little embossed leather, fabric lined box, I think fairly old and likely Italian. I'd guess there was once more vivid color on the top one can still see some red, and the gold painted border near the age remains pronounced but I like how it has faded and darkened with age. There is some wear to the leather especially around the bottom edge and bottom, and some wear and staining to the fabric lining, but overall in good vintage condition
